Civil Registration Law
The new Civil Registry Law shall enter into force 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette No. 39,264 from 16/09 / 2009, this would be to

Under Article 2 of the purposes of the Act are as follows:

According to Article 3, must register with the Civil Registry the following acts and legal facts:
Birth.
The formation and dissolution of marriage.
recognition, formation and dissolution of stable de facto union.
the separation.
filiation.
Adoption.
interdiction and prohibition.
The appointment of guardians or tutors, curators, curators and care tips.
acts relating to the acquisition, election, resignation, loss and recovery of Venezuelan nationality and revocation of naturalization.
The marital status of people from villages and indigenous communities, names, place of birth, place of residence, according to their customs and traditions.
the death, assumption and declaration of absence, and presumed death.
the residence. Corrections and insertions
of vital records.
The condition of temporary and permanent migrants, loss and withdrawal of same.
Other legal acts and events concerning civil status of persons under other laws, regulations and resolutions issued by the National Electoral Council.

Repeal of Civil Code (and other laws)
First: With the entry into force of this Act repealed sections 82, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 96, 99, 100, 103, 109, 476, 477, 478, 479, 480, 481, 482, 483, 484, 485 and 501 of the Civil Code and any other item that collides with this Act
Second, are repealed chapters I, II, III, VI, VIII and IX of Title XIII of Book I of the Civil Code and any other items that collides with this Law
Third, is repealed Article 773 of the Code of Civil Procedure and any other items that collides with this Law
Fourth, is repealed section 12 of article 37 of the Organic Law of Municipal Public Power and any other items that collides with this Law
Fifth, are repealed items 19, 20 and 21 of the Organic Law on Protection of Children and Adolescents, and part of Article 516 in regard to the right-of Councils for the Protection of Children and Adolescents to correct errors in the minutes of birth and any other items that collides with this Law
Sixth, repealed sections 32 and 33 of the Nationality and Citizenship Act and any other item which collides with the present Law
Seventh: There are repealed section 2 of Article 65 and Articles 67 and 68 of the Registry and Notary Public and any other item which collides with this Act
